the workshop
We prioritize safety. You will be able to find the best level of challenge for you and work at that difficulty. We do this by giving many steps to build up to each trick as well as giving a lot of different tricks at varying difficulties. This also makes our classes work well for mixed-experience-level groups.
We will show you how to build your skills from the ground up to safely do Lindy Hop air steps and tricks, including:
Muscle activation
Strength training
Safety practices
Flier and base connection skills
Timing, rhythm, and transitions
Tips and advice for your own training sessions
We decide specific content based on the group of people that shows up. It will generally include things like this:
Tricks that do not go upside down, E.G. back carry, frog jump, A frame, throwout, backdrop, proto-lotus, around the back, and more
Tricks that do go upside down, E.G. left hook, judo flip, record spin, handspring flip (aka pancake), down the back, the fly, barrel toss, toss the baby, neck snatch (aka horse flip), and more
Dancing into and out of tricks
Things you should bring to the classes:
Water bottle
Snacks
Comfortable clothes
Extra shirts if you get sweaty

About Jordan
After a childhood filled with competitive gymnastics, Jordan had all but left acrobatics behind when she found and fell in love with flying trapeze as an adult. She followed her circus dreams to Vermont where she completed NECCA’s professional training program in 2016, specializing in ground acrobatics. She’s spent the last several years continuing to study, perform, and teach various circus disciplines including partner acrobatics, tumbling, trampoline, hand balancing, and flying trapeze. As a coach, she strives to create an environment where every student feels supported and can work in their own way to achieve their goals. She believes in creative problem solving, learning through failure, and laughing loudly whenever possible.
